Fifty-two galleries, eighteen countries, and a long-awaited Saloua Raouda Choucair retrospective
The Beirut Art Fair has confirmed its September 2026 edition will be its largest since 2018, with fifty-two participating galleries from eighteen countries and a notable expansion into the Gulf and Maghreb. The centerpiece will be a long-overdue Saloua Raouda Choucair retrospective curated by her granddaughter, Hala Schoukair.
The fair's new director, the curator Joelle Ferzli, has spoken openly about correcting the fair's reputation as a market-first event. Expect a heavier program of talks, screenings, and a publishing fair-within-the-fair anchored by Kayfa ta and Ashkal Alwan.
